Immigrants March against HR 4337

April 10, 2006 · Posted in History · Comment

Another huge march for immigrants’ rights. A small but spirited group of RudeMos played improvised tunes to complement the people’s chanting. This included a sweet jam to “Si Se Puede” and lots of requests for a salsa number, of which we have none. Also, Jon Stewart smiled at us on the street, which made one or more of us feel a little tingly.

Also of note: not one but two trumpeters taking on percussion duties.

April Fool’s Day Battle of the Marching Bands

Fort Green Park, Brooklyn

You always hurt the one you love. So we fought our friends, the HMB, Kenny Wollesen’s band, and new friend What Cheer? Brigade (from Providence) and took over the park. We are tough and badass. We love children.
