Post-RNC Time’s Up Party

Time’s Up is a grassroots environmental group that uses educational outreach and direct action to promote a more sustainable, less toxic city. For more than 15 years, Time’s Up has worked to educate people about the environmental impacts of everyday decisions, from the food we buy to the means of transportation we use. They’re the city’s best group for direct action on bikes and host numerous events both at their headquarters at 49. E. Houston Street and in the streets, including many monthly group rides, bike bloc to support demonstrations, workshops, film nights, benefit parties, community garden events and more. They’re also a leading promoter of the monthly Critical Mass rides in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

This was the RMO’s first of many events with Time’s Up. Two of our sister marching bands, the NYC-based Hungry March Band and the Seattle-based Infernal Noise Brigade were there, making the evening rich in marching band chaos.

The spaces we work in include collective homes, social and cultural events, and other sites of mutual aid. Our work cultivates learning, skill and resource sharing, friendship, and thoughtful communication. We hope to build an empowered queer network that fosters respect, diversity and social justice.

  SW4BC has been a wonderful success story for SRLP: in the past 6 years, over 50 organizing host committee members and more than 200 progressive, transgressive, and cutting-edge artists have generously donated over 300 visionary works of art! This vibrant annual celebration reflects the radical spirit of SRLP, as well as the experimental energy of some of New York’s most innovative established and emerging contemporary artists. 100 of the event’s proceeds will benefit SRLP’s crucial work for gender self-determination. The event is free to the public, and will including a silent auction with affordable price points beginning at $10, featuring photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, textile pieces and mixed media installations.
